Without your engine, your car is just a giant heap of metal. There’s so many different complicated parts working in unison, it’s important to make sure they’re all in working order. There are a few basic things to watch out for. Here’s a short list of signs that your engine is having trouble and might need repairs:
Increased Gas Consumption:
If your car’s gas consumption increases noticeably, it’s a good sign that your engine is having trouble. It’s a good idea to take your car in right away, as you’ll be losing money every time you visit the gas station.
Banging Noise:
If you hear a banging noise coming from under your hood, especially while accelerating, it’s probably a problem with the engine. The cause could be anything from a poor-quality tank of gas to miniature explosions in your engine. The ladder can make a complete replacement necessary if it’s not repaired immediately.
Bad-Smelling Exhaust:
Generally, cars today don’t emit too much of a bad smell out of the exhaust. That’s why, if you notice one, or just notice a change, it’s a good sign that something is damaged in your car. It could be the exhaust itself or the engine.
If you notice any of these signs, take your car in immediately. Here at American Engine Installations, we offer engine repairs alongside a host of other auto-related services. If you have any questions, or need some information, please give us a call at (404) 381-8940.
